About Our History and Service
Water Recycling
Fountain is proud of our long-time use of wash-water recycling. We re-use 98% of all the fresh water used in our wash process.
The average wash takes about 300 gallons of water, but only 25 gallons of fresh water. The rest is used over and over so that only the minumum amount is discharged to the sewer system.
Plus, we use only biodegradable wash products and waxes of the highest quality for the protection of your car and our environment.
Fountain Car Wash was established in 1971. The founding partners felt that Macon and the surrounding area needed a state-of-the-art, full-service car wash with gasoline and detail services available. The original car wash used heavy bristle brushes for most of the cleaning. Back then, cars were made of metal and chrome. We took off the heavy brushes and replaced them with soft cloth designed for today’s plastic, fiberglass, and clear coat finishes.
Fountain Car Wash has changed as cars have changed. We added high-pressure water rinses, mild and clear-coat-safe cleaning detergents, clear-coat bonding true waxes, and touch-less dryers aided by drying agents to get the cleanest, brightest cars in Macon.
Our goal today, as it was in 1971, is to provide the best quality car wash and best quality service to all our customers, at a reasonable price in a reasonable amount of time. In 1995 we took our service to a new level with the addition of our full-service lube shop, Fountain Lube. Our fast, friendly personnel know cars and engines and how to service all the fluids under your car’s hood. If you are a regular customer, we will check and maintain those fluid levels between services at no charge.
